Brace Face

Braceface. Train tracks. Metal mouth. This will describe my son tomorrow. He is getting his braces on- 18 months of no bubble gum, corn on the cob or toffee. It also means no popcorn! In honour of his last night of a metal free mouth, I made homemade popcorn! 

I made an old favourite (and an earlier blog post) Doritos Popcorn. I also tried a new recipe. Now, I hate spicy food! But my son (and my husband) LOVE spicy food. Their current love is with sriracha. So in honour of Joe’s last metal mouth free night, I made Sriracha popcorn.

 

I had a few bites. It was spicy and tasty but it totally hurt my eyes! My eyes were watering like crazy lol! Joe LOVE it though!

no braces… yet!

You will need:

6 cups popcorn, popped in coconut oil on the stove

2 tbsp butter, melted

2 tbsp sriracha 

Whisk the melted butter and the sriracha. Pour the mixture over the hot popcorn and toss. Enjoy (but don’t forget to wash your hand super well before you attempt to remove your contact lenses! You’ve been warned!)
